eNews from the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary

23 May 2005

The Coast Guard Auxiliary e-News is designed to keep you informed of
information, issues and programs that affect the Coast Guard Auxiliary. It
includes links to official Coast Guard Auxiliary and Coast Guard sites that
represent official Coast Guard Auxiliary and Coast Guard programs, positions
or policies and is sent only to Coast Guard Auxiliary member’s email
addresses entered in AUXDATA. If you change your email address, wish to be
included in this mail list or wish to be removed from automatic
distribution, please see below.

   _____

I’d like to tell you about a new communication that starts with this message
– it’s called On Course and is a message from me to you.

It’s meant to give you information on a broad range of subjects of interest
and importance to the membership. The topics will be issues forwarded from
each district and will be addressed monthly or whenever there’s a special
need to alert you to something important and timely.

Notification of a new edition will be sent to everyone with a working email
address in the e-directory. It will also be posted on the Auxiliary web
site’s What’s New page.

Why email? We are, in many ways, a virtual organization and that can present
communication problems. We’re scattered from Guam to Maine and from Puerto
Rico to Alaska. We all belong to a local flotilla but for many of us, except
for possibly a yearly district conference, we rely on the Internet for both
sending and receiving information from beyond our local area.

E-mail gets the communication out quickly.

On Course will be archived on my website at HYPERLINK
"http://www.auxnaco.org/"www.auxnaco.org

Will On Course answer all your questions? Probably not but it will give you
perspective and something to think and talk about. When there’s a question,
bring it up the chain of communication – odds are there will be someone who
can give you an answer.

Will you be able to message me with questions? Unfortunately no, because
with 30,000 members in the Auxiliary, there simply isn’t time for me to
answer everyone but that’s why the chain of communication is in place

Best regards,

 Gene M. Seibert

 National Commodore
