Flotilla Finder – Zip Code Function

We have received numerous inquiries as to the status of the Flotilla Finder
by Zip Code function. We realize this is an important tool for many of our
members, unfortunately we were not able to implement this function in time
for the launch of the new website.

We are working diligently to restore this function to the site. Regular
service is expected to be restored soon. We appreciate your patience during
this time of transition. A notice will also be posted on this page once this
function is returned to operation.

Donations Needed: Operation Life Ring Program

Auxiliary members, as well as flotillas, divisions, and districts, are urged
to donate whatever they can afford to OPERATION LIFE RING (OLR) , to assist
their shipmates in the Gulf Coast region whose lives have been devastated by
Hurricane Katrina. Donations can be accepted from non-Auxiliary members and
corporations. As of this date, almost $40,000 has been donated.

Visit HYPERLINK "http://www.operationlifering.org/"www.operationlifering.org
and click on the "Donate Now " button to donate by credit card.

Donations can also be made by check. The check should be made payable to
"CGAuxA, Inc." Be sure to indicate on the check or cover letter that the
funds are specifically for OPERATION LIFE RING so we can account for them
properly. Mail the donation to:

Coast Guard Auxiliary Association, Inc.
Coast Guard Auxiliary Center
ATTN: Operation Life Ring
9449 Watson Industrial Park
St. Louis, MO 63126

Remember - 100 percent of the funds received by OLR will go to benefit
Auxiliarists impacted by this tragedy, and donations are usually tax
deductible (see your tax advisor for details).

Attention Auxiliary Webmasters

The unit website migration is well underway and many webmasters have already
moved their Auxiliary website from the old RaQ server to our new LINUX
server. Each DSO-CS now has the new unit website addresses, and access
information for every hosted Auxiliary website within their District. They
will be getting that information out to each of their webmasters in the near
future. Webmasters will want to act promptly when they do receive that
information from their DSO-CS.

The actual migration process is easy, with each webmaster simply
republishing their existing site to the new address. In most cases it has
taken only a few minutes for the unit webmaster to accomplish. Please
remember that 10 DEC 2005 is the deadline for completion of the migration
process.

Units may start using their new sites as soon as they are posted. For
additional details, please see the full list of updates on CS News.

What’s Up With AUXDATA…?

1. Some recent and significant changes to the Auxiliary Data System
(AUXDATA) have resulted in a wide variety of problems and difficulties for
its frequent users. This message is meant to briefly advise Auxiliarists of
actions already taken, actions that are planned to improve AUXDATA
responsiveness and capability, and some actions all Auxiliary users should
consider to help get the information they need.

2. First, let’s remember that AUXDATA is, for the most part, a Coast
Guard-owned, Auxiliary-operated information system that affects or is
affected by all Auxiliarists. It is the repository for performance,
activity, training, facility, award, and even basic personal information
about the Auxiliary. However, it is admittedly not an ideal end-all to
information systems. Like all systems and programs, AUXDATA has limits -
limits that are largely governed by the availability of resources.
