New ICS Requirements

As of February 2006, the ALCOAST from G-RPP announcing the revised dates for
completion of Incident Command System (IS) coursework for CG Auxiliary
forces has not been issued. Since there are both Area and District
directives published, some members have expressed concerns about the
apparent conflict between the dates published and the dates proposed. In an
effort to resolve this conflict, CG Auxiliary members are directed to comply
with directives published by CG Area and District commands until CG
Headquarters guidance is available.

Revised RBS Device Guidelines

Thru the collaborative efforts various National level departments, a change
to allow recording SLO meetings with state BLAs and BLA staff to be recorded
thru entry of mission 65C on the ANSC form 7030 will now be possible. This
will eliminate recording on the ANSC Form 7029 and manually transmitting
such hours to the local DIRAUX office. The revised RBS Qualifications
Guidelines are now available on the Boating Department website.

State Liaison Officer (SLO) Qualification Guide

In each district one SLO is appointed by the DCO to serve as SLO for the
states in each district. When districts share a state there is still only
one SLO appointed unless the state BLA requests multiple USCGAUX SLOs. The
National Board has approved the use of a testing process to assist the DCOs
in selecting the most capable Auxiliarists for this important office. The
SLO Qualification Guide is now available on the Boating Department website.
