CHDIRAUX Announces New Website Location, Doscontinuation of Old Website

As  we mentioned several months ago, The existing CHDIRAUX site HYPERLINK
"outbind://17/www.cgaux.info"www.cgaux.info will be shutting down shortly (5
OCT 07).

All Auxiliarists and Auxiliary webmasters should make the following changes
immediately:

There have been some minor changes (pages dropped and a few added) that may
make more sense to the Webmasters, so they should take a look at the new
site before they blindly make changes.

On 5 October 2007, any link that still points to HYPERLINK
"outbind://17/www.cgaux.info"www.cgaux.info should be automatically
redirected to the new site, but eventually they may end up with an error
page.

Operational Dress Uniform (ODU) Care and Wear Policy - ALCOAST 427/07 

This ALCOAST clarifies the proper wear of the ODU. The ODU is a general
purpose everyday uniform intended for wear in any situation that does not
require a dress uniform. In addition, since this uniform may be worm in many
operational situations, and in order to maintain safety and consistency in
appearance, metal devices or attachments will no longer be authorized.

2007 Best of Web Awards Announced at NACON

The Coast Guard Auxiliary recognizes the need to communicate time sensitive
information to all of its members and each Auxiliary website plays a vital
role in the distribution of information. The best examples of Auxiliary
websites were honored at NACON 2007. The winning websites receive a crystal
trophy and are authorized the 5 Star logo for permanent display on their

Latest News from the Boating Department

Applications are now available for the BoatU.S. Foundation's Boating Safety
Grant Program. A total of $50,000 is available to small nonprofit
organizations and groups around the country to fund projects that promote
safe boating practices. The deadline to apply is November 1, 2007. Grantees
can receive up to $4,000 each to fund innovative projects addressing boating
safety issues specific to their local waterways. Grant guidelines,
information, and applications are available at BoatUS.com/Foundation. The
grants will be awarded in late January 2008.
